Our purpose is to support family life by offering education, enrichment, and support for families directly through parish-based programs, as well as programs and opportunities offered through the Diocese. Please see our parish ministries for offerings that meet your needs.
Students experiencing serious academic, behavioral, or social difficulties require special attention. In order to best serve the needs of the child, the school may require testing as a requisite for continued enrollment.
Kroger Cares is one way the OLMC school and nonprofit orginzations can fundraise! All you do is purchase a gift card from the Kroger Gift Services Department. This helps to support our school and provide for our wonderful OLMC school families.

The school must be notified in writing by the parent(s) of a student regarding a decision to transfer a student to another school, including the last day the student will attend classes at OLMC. Please click here to print and complete the Student Withdrawal Form. All school-owned materials such as textbooks and library books must be returned to school and all fees paid before leaving. Scholastic information will be sent to the new school upon a “request for records” from the new school. All fees and other obligations must be paid prior to the release of the student’s record. Once a child is withdrawn from the school, an application must be submitted to be considered for re-enrollment.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel students begin using Google Classroom daily in 5th grade. However, in grades K - 4, students will learn how to navigate it in Library/Media, use it for E-Learning Days, and to help scaffold an understanding of the site, younger elementary teachers will require its' use from time to time. To help parents navigate and support their child in using Google Classroom, you can click here to access our Quick Start Guide for how to use Google Classroom.
The Family Policy Guide states on page 17:
Honor Roll
Students in Grades 6-8 have the opportunity to achieve Honor Roll and High Honors. In order to
determine honor roll status a student’s class percentages are added for the quarter. Core classes
count two times, Specials classes count one time. The criteria to receive these awards are as
follows:
Honor Roll: averages 89.50 - 97.49 High Honors: averages 97.50 -100.00
A grade of a D or F in any subject will eliminate a student from being on either Honor Roll.
Conduct and Effort grades are not included in the overall average. However, if a student’s Conduct
or Effort grade is below 94%, the student will not be on either Honor Roll
In working with PowerSchool technical experts, we have determined that PowerSchool calculates the Honor Roll average as follows:
Core Classes | Grade | Specials Classes | Grade
English/Language Arts | 82 | CaLD | 95
Literature | 83 | Exploring Music | 100
Mathematics | 92 | Physical Education | 96
Religion | 96 | Visual Art | 89
Science | 86 | STEM | 100 | |
Social Studies | 98 | Tota Specials Classes | 480
Total Core Classes | 537 |
Step 1 Find the average for Core Classes: Total for Core Classes divided by the number of Core Classes (6)
537/6 = 89.50
Step 2 Find the average for Specials Classes: Total for Specials Classes divided by the number of Specials Classes (5)
480/5 = 96.00
Step 3 Core Classes count two times
89.50 x 2 = 179.00
Step 4 Specials Classes count one time
96.00 x 1 = 96.00
Step 5 Find the final total
179.00 + 96.00 = 275
Step 6 Find the final average
275/3 = 91.67
91.67 is the Honor Roll average for this sample student.
*6th grade will have a total of 7 Core Classes, they have a separate Vocabulary Class. Grades 7 & 8 include Vocabulary within English/Language Arts.
Remember that a grade below 75 in any subject or below 94 in Conduct or Effort automatically eliminates Honor Roll.
